SciSports is delighted to announce new upgrades to its Performance Center Application. The additional features within the Application means that users will be able to gain even deeper insights across a number of Performance Center elements.

Below, we take a closer look at the new features within the Performance Center Application.

Max Speed and Total Distance added to Physical Reports

Navigate to feature: Match Center > Physical Report > Choose Game Phase > Players

Within the Physical Report section, you are now able to analyse the Total distance (m) of your team and individual players.

As shown below, we have navigated to our chosen match and game phases (attack > defense). Here we can see how Team A's players performed in terms of Max Speed during the match (highlighted in blue) as well as in other matches this season and the season average (highlighted in white).

Figure 1. Team A's players by Max Speed in Attack > Defense versus Team B

Furthermore, you can also switch between other game phases on the left-hand side to see how each player, or the team, performs in different phases. This could be useful when applying tactical context to the game - for example, we want our players' Max Speed to be particularly high in Attack to Defense so we are not being caught on the counter-attack.

In the top right-hand corner you can use the dropdown menu to also switch between metrics. Within this update we have added the Total Distance (m) which can provide further insight into each player's workload, effort within the game and provide objective information to apply within the tactical context of the match.

Time Spent in each game phases has been added

Another update within the Physical Report is the ability to view Time Spent in each game phase. This is visible below each bar chart which can be broken down into 45 minute or 15 minute parts.

As shown in the example below, we see how Team A vs Team B played out in terms of team distance and intensity in the Attacking game phase. By selecting '15 minute parts' in the dropdown menu and unticking the 'Opponent values' toggle, we can see how Team B performed in each time segment.

Figure 2. Team B's Attacking output versus Team A

Some key takeaways here are that they spent most time in the attacking phase just before and after half time - during the 30-45' (5m29s) and 45-60' (5m8s) segments. Depending on your use case, you can begin to see how the Time Spent values can be valuable to analysing a match with the addition of the physical output in the bars above.

Using the dropdown menu in the top right-hand corner, you can switch between Average distance (m/min) and Total Distance (m).

Enriched live data coverage

Within the live analysis section, users can now monitor the Game Phases analysis and further updates already outlined above. Within the Physical Report section, you are now able to analyse the Total distance (m) of your team and individual players in each Game Phase.

By being able to actively monitor metrics such as Total Distance (m), performance staff will have objective information at their fingertips to advise substitutions from a physical load perspective.

You can view each definition for Physical variables here.
