Opponent View
The Opponent View toggle allows users to switch the perspective of the analysis from the selected team to their opponents. This feature is located within the Events dropdown in the filter panel. When the toggle is set to Opponent, the pitch view and table view will display all on-ball actions performed against the selected team.
Team: Displays events performed by the selected team.
Opponent: Displays events performed by the opposing team. The event definitions, table columns, and pitch visualizations remain consistent, but reflect the data of the opponent's actions at the specific locations where they occurred.
Please note that the players filter is not available in opponent view mode.
Event Definitions
A total of 198 events can be assigned to individual players. In this article you can find the full glossary of the SciSports Events.
Event Selection
The event selection panel determines which actions appear in the pitch view and the table. Event types can be selected through the available filter boxes. Events that contain an arrow can be expanded, showing separate successful and unsuccessful variations where applicable. To locate an event more quickly, the search bar can be used to filter the list by name.
Please note: the event selection has a maximum of 12 events
Pitch Zone Filter
A pitch crop tool enables drawing a custom zone directly on the pitch. Only events occurring within the selected area remain visible. The remaining events will be shown in the table view.
Move the cursor to the starting point of the area on the pitch.
Hold the left mouse button.
Drag the cursor to define the desired zone.
Select the cross icon to remove the custom zone again.
Event Information
When hovering over or clicking on an event in the pitch view the event information will show in the left top corner of the pitch. Including:
Match
Time
Player
Categories of event
Underlying events
Legend
The legend next to the pitch displays the fixed event categories used in the visualization:
Finishing
Defending
Passing
Dribbling
Receptions
Retention
Goalkeeping
Set pieces
Each event shown on the pitch is assigned the color of its category, ensuring that all events belonging to the same category share a consistent visual identity, regardless of the specific underlying event type. The legend also shows the total number of events within each category that appear in the current view.
Table View of Event Results
The table view lists all events that match the selected filters. Each event is shown as a separate row, providing a structured overview of the match actions.
The table displays up to 20 results per page. Navigation arrows above the table allow scrolling through the full set of results. Columns can be sorted by selecting the column header, with the Time column sorted in descending order by default.
Columns in the Table
Time: Match minute in which the event occurred.
Match: Home and away teams, including final result.
Event(s): Display of the selected or superior event; hovering shows all linked events.
Player: Player who performed the event.
Position: Pitch zone where the event occurred (defensive, middle, or final third).
When hovering over the +number in the events column all underlying events will show.
