As one season comes to an end, we are excited to share the latest developments in SciSports’ Recruitment product, just in time for the 2024/25 season.

New bespoke and customizable radar charts

Today marks the launch of a highly requested and popular feature in our Recruitment application. With the release of the SciSports Radar Charts, users can now visualize player statistics based on their preferences. This bespoke feature is available on both the player profile pages and the player comparison functionality.

Default templates

Start visualizing player performance by selecting one of the default positional templates created by our football specialists. These templates reflect key parameters for each position based on industry best practices.

Full customization and flexibility

In addition to standard templates, users can modify relevant statistics to create personalized profiles. Overwrite existing templates or create new ones from scratch, choosing from up to 12 different stat categories per template.

Benchmarking

With over 100 leagues available, customers can benchmark a player’s performance against any competition of choice. Selecting current or historical seasons lets you quickly visualize the players statistical output compared to positional peers from the league.

Player comparisons

Select up to three players to visualize their statistical performance output in an intuitive, easy-to-use format within the player compare feature.

Enhanced and contextualized defensive stat categories

After extensive research by the SciSports data science team, we have updated the defensive stat categories in the Career Stats and Performance sections of our application. These new data points replace most of the generic defensive stats used before.

As SciSports continues to integrate multiple data sources for a best-in-class user experience, we’ve switched to defensive stats tailored to the tactical context of defensive actions, rather than relying on defensive stats that lack context and are indistinguishable from one another.

The full list of newly available defensive stat categories:

  • Blocking shots

  • Disruption in own box

  • Disruption of box penetration

  • Disruption of long balls

  • Open play defense in air

  • Set-pieces defense in own box

  • Set-pieces defense in air

  • Transition forcing in air

  • Regain possession

  • Counter interceptions on opponent half

  • Counter interceptions on own half
