Release Notes - ETV (Estimated Transfer Value)

In another new feature releasing in January 2023 we have the Estimated Transfer Value (ETV), the output expression for our Player Valuation Model.

In the SciSports Recruitment platform you will now find the ETV of the 240.000 professional football players in over 250 leagues.

We are able to estimate the intrinsic value of a player based on historical transfer fees. The machine learning model also takes into account different type of data such as:

  • Player Age

  • Player Position

  • Player performance (player level, player potential, playing time)

  • Player experience (# of matches played, #minutes played, experience in domestic league, experience in inter/national tournaments)

  • League Strength

  • Contract Situation

It is also important to mention that this feature has been co-developed with our partner FootballTransfers. An expert panel has and will dedicate time to tweak the model in order for us to have the best results. This also allows us to challenge the model and introduce a human-model collaboration.

This new feature will be visible on a player’s profile as an additional quadrant.

In addition to the quadrant, users will be able to filter based on the Estimated Transfer Value. In combination with other filters, it gives great options to find undervalued or check overvalued players.

To read into the details of the different components used and their effect on the ETV, please check this article.
