How does SciSports propose similar players in terms of playing style?

Given the Playing Style Blueprint for a player on a particular position in a particular season, the SciSports Platform shows at most five players who played on the same position in the same season whose Playing Style Blueprints exhibit the highest similarity. The Playing Style Blueprints of two players need to exhibit at least 75% similarity in terms of Jaccard Index in order to be considered similar, where the Jaccard Index is a widely accepted statistical similarity measure.

SciSports defined a Playing Style Blueprint for each position based on the Player Roles that are most relevant to players playing on that particular position. For a complete overview of Player Roles per position, please see this article.
