The Career statistics module provides a structured overview of player performance across seasons and matches. It allows detailed analysis of event-based metrics, supports custom views, and enables comparison between season averages and individual match performances.
Accessing career statistics
Career statistics can be accessed via the player profile:
Navigate to Players
Select a player
Click on “Go To Player Page”
Select “See Details” in the Career statistics tile
Filtering data
The filters at the top of the interface define the dataset used in the table.
League type selection
Use the first dropdown to filter data by league type such as (non-) domestic leagues and cups. This ensures only relevant competitions are included in the analysis.
View selection
The second dropdown shows the active view. This determines which metrics are visible in the table.
P/90 or Totals view
Metrics can be displayed as:
Totals: absolute values across the selected dataset
p/90: values normalized per 90 minutes
This toggle ensures fair comparison across players or matches with different playing time.
Managing views
Select Manage views to create, edit, or apply custom metric configurations. Views allow consistent analysis across different players or contexts.
Downloading data
Select Download to export the current view:
PDF for presentation-ready output
CSV for further data processing
Expanding event types
Certain metrics include an arrow icon. Selecting this arrow expands all related sub-events at once, including:
Successful events
Unsuccessful events
Associated ratios where applicable
Clicking on the arrow in the right top corner expands all at once. This provides deeper insight into performance quality without switching views.
Season overview and match breakdown
The table initially displays season-level data, showing aggregated performance per season.
Expanding to match statistics
Select Show match stats under a season to view individual match performance.
Up to 10 matches can be selected
Each match appears as a separate column
The final column shows the average of selected matches
Performance indicators
Each match is compared to the season average:
Green indicator shows overperformance
Red indicator shows underperformance
This allows quick identification of standout or below-average performances.
Event definitions on hover
Hovering over a metric displays its definition. This helps clarify how each event is defined within SciSports event data.
