Release Note: Updated SciSports Events JSON file & newly added CSV files
We’re happy to announce that we’ve expanded our datasets. From now on we have updated the SciSports Events JSON file and we have added new CSV files, both player and team version, to the dataset per match. From the upcoming matches and onwards, both files will be available in the datasets. Note that both files will become available for newly processed matches only.
SciSports Events JSON file
The SciSports Events JSON file is a structured format that enables efficient exchange and synchronization of data in your video and performance analysis process. We’ve enriched our JSON file with metrics, labels and descriptive fields. In the table below you can find a short explanation and examples per category. On this page on our website you can read a full explanation and find a list that includes all definitions.
The enriched Events JSON file version will become available for any newly processed matches from today onwards and will replace the previous file version.
| Short explanation | Example |
Metrics | Float-based metrics are decimal numbers that describe what happened during an event. They only apply to events that have a clear start and end location. | Length forwardDisplacement xG xA |
Labels | Labels are like simple rules (boolean qualifiers) that help you filter or group data based on certain conditions. | KEEPER_SAVE SHORT_PASS TAKE_ON FINAL_3RD_PASS KEY_PASS |
Descriptive fields | These are whole numbers or text values (integer or string variables) that describe parts of an event, usually about where it starts or ends. | StartZone EndZone StartThird EndThird |
CSV Files
Our CSV files are simple, table-like formats that enable easy storage and exchange of structured data for your video and performance analysis. We’ve added new CSV files per match, both player and team version. The CSV files contain tables with all performed events that we cover within a match and match stats like expected goals (xG), number of passes (and accuracy) or amount of take-ons per team or per player. Both CSV files will become instantly available within each dataset for any newly processed match from now on.
